1) Common Table www.commontable.net

Common Table is a non-profit Social Entrepreneurship project for the betterment of our community and world. At the core of Common Table is a café from which we endeavor to serve extraordinary food to all people, both those with the ability to pay, and those who under typical circumstances would not be able to eat at a café of our quality. The Social Entrepreneurship model that we have studied and intend will allow Common Table to serve the privileged and under-privileged, while being sustainable for many years without major annual infusions of new donations.

In addition to providing meals for all people, we will train workers in the food service industry; offer education about healthy eating, sustainable agriculture, local sources of food, and ethical sourcing; gather a diversity of people in the same space for many kinds of public discourse, music, and learning opportunities. We will use the proceeds from our breakfast and lunch business to pay for the expenses of the facility, evening events, speakers, films, music, discussions, classes, etc. – all pieces of the full Common Table vision. Common Table aspires to be the best of what a Public House can be.

Common Table exists for the good of the overall Bend community. An investment in Common Table is an investment in people who need jobs, people who need wholesome good food, people who need community, people who need education and experience in the best life has to offer.

2) Feedin The People. www.feedinthepeople.org

Our mission at Feedin' The People is to work with local churches, food banks and other agencies in order to feed people caught in dire circumstances. FTP works as an arm to such agencies as Neighbor Impact, Family Access Network, and DHS to identify and provide meals to families in times of need. FTP's staff puts together comfort food menus meant to help bring people together.

Feedin' The People utilizes a volunteer work force overseen by Steven Farrell, who contributes his expertise acquired from over thirty years as chef in the food service industry.

Feedin' The People is about truly being fed, in your heart and soul. Food should go beyond basic sustenance, filling the greater needs of the community by providing fellowship, refueling the mind and soul along with the body. Through this sharing of time, space and bread, we strive to give hope to those who have experienced catastrophic devastation, and make those burdens a bit more bearable.

3) Kids Center www.kidscenter.org

Years ago, without a safe place to tell someone about their abuse, Central Oregon children had to retell their stories multiple times. All too often they told an adult who simply did not know what to do or how to respond.

Founded in 1994 by the community, KIDS Center works together with law enforcement, medical providers and social service agencies to create a supportive response to child abuse through a multi-disciplinary team approach. We serve Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson county along with the Warm Springs Reservation, seeing families at our two locations in Bend and Prineville.

4) Mountain Star Family mountainstarfamily.org

MountainStar Family Relief Nursery is dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in Central Oregon by providing services to keep children safe, parents successful and families together. We provide crisis intervention and a therapeutic classroom for babies and young children aged 6-weeks to 4-years-old. These children come from families with an average of 12 risk factors for child abuse and neglect, including poverty, isolation, mental health issues, involvement with the criminal justice system, substance abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.
